Richard Longstaff

Mr. Richard Longstaff, a Managing Director with Deloitte US, has led a wide range of mining, oil and gas, power, and investment promotion programs in more than 40 countries across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. He has over a decade of resident experience in emerging and transforming markets including, Southern Africa, Kazakhstan, Russia, and the Middle East. A professional mining engineer and member of the National Mining Association’s Minerals Policy Task Force, he has extensive experience working on natural resources and energy initiatives, with a focus on public sector extractives policy, regulatory, institutional and operational reforms. Working with multiple US government agencies, he serves leads Deloitte’s worldwide public sector mining and extractives engagements, through which he has provided policy, regulatory, fiscal, operational, geological and data management advice to over 30 governments across six continents.
