Tia Raappana

Senior Public Sector Specialist in the PEFA Secretariat, housed in the World Bank

 

Ms. Raappana is a Senior Public Sector Specialist in the PEFA Secretariat, housed in the World Bank. She has two decades of strategic, management, and operational experience in the public sector and economic governance, anti-corruption, and PFM. She has worked in Afghanistan, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, the UK, the US, and South Africa. Her latest position prior to joining the Secretariat in early 2020 was working in the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office on DFID’s strategic governance approach to address global development challenges. She has also worked with several international financial institutions such as the Asian Development Bank, and as a senior adviser to two Afghan Finance Ministers. Ms. Raappana started her career in HM Treasury in the UK. She holds a Master’s degree in the Politics of the World Economy from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Sussex.
