Andrew Kurtzman
Assistant Director for Data Science, US Government Accountability Office Innovation Lab
Andrew Kurtzman is Assistant Director for Data Science in the US Government Accountability Office’s Innovation Lab. In this role, he and his team leverage data science to enhance GAO’s oversight of Executive Branch programs on behalf of the United States Congress. This includes testing and validating new audit methods, developing predictive capabilities to identify future high-value oversight work, and enhancing the agency’s internal management operations. Andrew was previously a Senior Economist with GAO’s International Affairs and Trade mission team. Before GAO, Andrew worked at OECD, the Alabama Governor’s Office, and Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Andrew holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, an MPP from Harvard University, and a BA from Brown University. He lives in Alexandria, VA, where he serves on the board of Agudas Achim Congregation.
