David Robins joined the International Budget Partnership in August 2013, and is based in Washington, D.C. As the Manager of the Open Budget Survey, he is responsible for overseeing global research and advocacy to make government budgets more open and accountable. He is responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative social science research into public finance, providing technical assistance and support to IBP’s partners, in-country peer reviewers and government officials, as well as developing and implementing advocacy strategies at the national, regional, and international levels to promote reforms that improve budget transparency and public participation. Prior to joining IBP, he worked for community organizations in New Orleans and held internships in the US and UK governments. David holds an MSc in International Politics from SOAS, University of London, where his studies focused on the role of non-state actors in governance and democratization.
